Area Marketing Manager, Highgate Hotels (Honolulu, HI 04/2018-07/2020)

  • Reporting to Regional lVPs and mainland ownership, lead internal and external marketing and communications encompassing media relations, advertising, social media, design, and copywriting for independently branded and franchised properties across Hawaii portfolio including ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach, Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach, Ambassador Hotel Waikiki, Pearl Hotel Waikiki, Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, and Park Shore Waikiki Hotel.

  • Marketing Director, Zazen Bear - Spearhead rebranding initiative to align marketing strategy with overarching company vision. Manage agency partners in planning and creating social media and e-commerce content and calendar, corporate partnerships, and events.

  • Interim Communications Officer, Women’s Refugee Commission - Manage content creation, copywriting, and design of all digital properties including the first social media fundraising campaign raising $25k in one month.

  • Operations Manager, Ravizza Brownfield Gallery -  Help launch and run the first month of Honolulu’s newest contemporary art gallery featuring European avant-garde masters. Duties include day-to-day operations management and community/guest relations.

  • Sustainability Officer, Cotton Candy Inc. - Spearhead the creation and direction of the company’s first global sustainability strategy in collaboration with executive management. Serve as subject matter expert on sustainability and regional consumer product safety regulations (CCPSA, Prop 65, etc.) among internal staff,  suppliers, Fortune 500 clients, government officials, third-party auditors, NGOs, and trade associations. Create and implement responsible sourcing practices through collaboration with auditors, test labs, and international standards boards.

 

Director, Global Communications & Public Affairs, The Estée Lauder Companies  (New York, NY 08/2013-10/2015)

  • Serve as 2nd-in-command to VP on issues management and crisis communications through the creation and adoption of Company-wide response strategies, tools, and guidance.

  • Draft briefings and reputational risk assessments for senior management including Executive Chairman and Chairman Emeritus.

  • Lead and project manage the design of Annual Report and Corporate Responsibility Report from initial RFP to final launch and distribution.

  • Spearhead the overhaul and reconfiguration of social media monitoring software, Brandwatch. Analyze and leverage data for risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

  • Manage $1M budget for the production and delivery of Spring and Fall Education sales catalogs; provide market input and inclusion advice.

  • Source, hire, and manage contractors and vendors to support and execute projects within budget and scope of work.

  • Ensure products and offers are coded and aligned for proper fulfillment by warehouse, regional sales, and field sales operations.

  • Sole staff responsible for all marketing initiatives and publications. Lead editorial and creative development of new subscription-based quarterly magazine, REACH VIETNAM. Revamp organization brand identity and web site.
